The Soft Matters group is exhibiting as part of the Material Acts – Experimentation in Architecture and Design show curated by Kate Yeh Chiu and Jia Yi Gu for Craft Contemporary, Los Angeles, from September 28, 2024 to January 5, 2025. The exhibition examines the role of nature as a starting point for material experimentation in the domains of architecture, craft, and science. Among other exciting works, it features All flowers are of paper – a series of material evidences from the ANR ImpressioVivo project dedicated to bio-printing for architecture and design. All flowers are of paper embodies the potential for shaping recycled paper foam through 3D printing and biocalcification, a low-temperature microbially induced stiffening process.
