Communication, Design, Ethics, and Care: The Challenges of Care for Children in the Context of Genetic Diseases
On January 30, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the University of Lille will host an exciting seminar titled “Ethics, Design, and Care: Possibilities and Capabilities of Design to (Re)think Care”. Audrey Brugnoli and Léa Tricaud, PhD students at EnsadLab / Imagine, will present their research with a particular focus on children living with genetic diseases. The program will feature cross-disciplinary feedback and dialogue. This seminar will offer an in-depth reflection on the intersecting challenges of ethics, design, and care, especially in the context of genetic diseases in children.
An Interdisciplinary Seminar on Design and Care
The research seminar “Ethics, Design, and Care” aims to explore the intersections between the discipline and practice of design, and the ethical and political concept of “care” by investigating the ontological, epistemological, and methodological issues underlying this encounter. Along with this more theoretical approach, we also aim to address a number of practical challenges inherent in this meeting, whether in terms of training, intervention methodologies, or the new forms of organization required by care in today’s society.
