Présentation du projet de recherche-création « La trajectoire singulière d’une feuille d’un épi de maïs. »

La trajectoire singulière d’une feuille d’un épi de maïs est un film d’une dizaine de minutes autour du projet Totomoxtle : un processus de création d’objets issus de la production de feuilles de maïs, conçus par le designer mexicain Fernando Laposse. Issu d’une enquête ethnographique, ce film – entre film d’animation et documentaire – est le fruit d’une collaboration entre une anthropologue, une réalisatrice et une designer graphique. En mobilisant les outils du cinéma documentaire et ceux du film d’animation, nous avons conçu une forme de narration qui puisse permettre aux différents acteurs humains et non-humains de ce projet de raconter ensemble ce qui se tisse autour de Totomoxtle.

The Singular Journey of a Corn Husk Leaf is a short film of about ten minutes based on the Totomoxtle project: a process of creating objects from corn husk production, designed by Mexican designer Fernando Laposse. Derived from an ethnographic study, this film – a blend of animation and documentary – is the result of a collaboration between an anthropologist, a filmmaker, and a graphic designer. By combining the tools of documentary cinema and animation, we have crafted a narrative form that allows the various human and non-human actors involved in this project to tell together what is woven around Totomoxtle.
