Stand Up For Science : Dauphine et PSL s’engagent pour une recherche libre
L'Université Paris Dauphine – PSL s’associe avec l’Université PSL à l'action de l'Académie des sciences alertant sur les menaces pesant sur la science et la recherche scientifique aux Etats-Unis, ainsi qu'à l'initiative "Stand Up for Science France" invitant la communauté à se mobiliser.
Depuis l’élection puis l’investiture de Donald Trump, la communauté scientifique américaine est confrontée à des mesures drastiques – coupes budgétaires, licenciements de chercheurs, suppressions de programmes clés – qui compromettent la liberté de recherche et la coopération internationale.
Face aux décisions récentes de l’administration Trump, l’Académie des Sciences d’une part, et le mouvement « Stand Up for Science France » d’autre part, invitent les communautés scientifiques à dénoncer ces menaces et à se mobiliser. Université de recherche intensive, PSL s’associe à ce mouvement et réaffirme son engagement en faveur de la liberté académique et du dialogue scientifique au niveau international.
Indispensable à la compréhension du monde, la science repose sur des principes fondamentaux de liberté, d’intégrité et de coopération, garants de son impact positif sur nos sociétés. Mettre en péril ces principes, c’est fragiliser notre capacité collective à faire face aux grands enjeux contemporains.
En écho à l’appel de l'Académie des sciences et en soutien de l’initiative « Stand Up for Science France », l'Université PSL invite ses communautés scientifiques à rechercher activement les moyens de maintenir les collaborations scientifiques en cours, et à exprimer leur soutien à l’occasion du mouvement du 7 mars 2025.
Paris Dauphine University – PSL Supports the Academy of Sciences’ Call to Defend Science
Paris Dauphine University – PSL joins Université PSL in supporting the Academy of Sciences’ action alerting on the threats facing science and scientific research in the United States, as well as the "Stand Up for Science France" initiative, which calls on the academic community to mobilize.
Since the election and inauguration of Donald Trump, the American scientific community has faced drastic measures—budget cuts, researcher layoffs, and the elimination of key programs—that jeopardize research freedom and international cooperation.
In response to recent decisions by the Trump administration, both the Academy of Sciences and the "Stand Up for Science France" movement urge scientific communities to denounce these threats and take action. As a leading research university, PSL joins this movement and reaffirms its commitment to academic freedom and international scientific dialogue.
Science, essential for understanding the world, is built on fundamental principles of freedom, integrity, and cooperation—ensuring its positive impact on society. Undermining these principles weakens our collective ability to address today’s major global challenges.
In alignment with the Academy of Sciences’ call and in support of the "Stand Up for Science France" initiative, Université PSL encourages its scientific communities to actively seek ways to maintain ongoing scientific collaborations and to express their support on the occasion of the movement on March 7, 2025.
